Supplemental Insurance Options
The options listed below do NOT meet the qualifications of a QHP (Qualified Health Plan). These options are not designed to be a replacement for a qualified health plan.
Designed for people who have a temporary need for medical coverage and who are healthy. Short Term Medical Insurance gives you peace of mind by providing coverage for injuries and sudden-onset illnesses. Premiums are very affordable with various coverage options. It does not provide coverage for pre-existing conditions. The maximum length of time for coverage is 3 months. There may be options for an additional policy with another insurance company. There is no continuous coverage between policies. Any condition which may have existed or occurred under one policy will be a pre-existing condition on the next policy.
Travel Insurance is recommended for when you travel outside of your insurance company’s service area.
Accident Plan – SureBridge Accident Companion (underwritten by Chesapeake Life Insurance Company)
This plan is designed to complement your qualified health plan. The SureBridge Accident Companion plan provides help with out-of-pocket costs for accidental injuries. Cash benefits are paid directly to you, not to your doctor or hospital. Option 4 is the most popular. It has a $10,000 benefit for a hospital confinement for an accidental injury. Benefits for ER, Diagnostic Exam or follow up therapy are also included.
